Rally Class
This class is designed to teach participants the AKC sport known as Rally. AKC Rally is sometimes referred to as a cross between formal obedience and the sport of agility. It is a lot of fun for both the dog and the owner. Rally is a sport in which the dog and handler proceed at their own pace through a course of designated “stations”. Each station has a sign providing instructions regarding the next skill to be performed by you and your dog. “Novice” is the first level for those just getting started in this sport and it is the basis for this class. You will learn to recognize and perform 31 different “stations”, or cues with your dog. This class takes your training to the next level and allows you to continue to work with your dog while having a lot of fun. It is not physically taxing (there is no running or jumping) and can be done by just about anyone and any breed! Some examples of what you will learn are:
- Halt / Sit
- Halt / Down / Walk Around Dog
- Fast Forward from Sit
- Call Front / Step Back
- Call Front / Finish Left / Right
- Serpentine Weave Once
- Straight Figure 8 Weave Twice
- And much more….
